On this edition of 30 on 3D, Senior R&D Engineer, Cameron Williams, explains the benefits of the new 3MF file format.
3D Manufacturing Format, 3MF, is a new file format developed specifically for the additive manufacturing industry. Now available to use with GrabCAD Print, 3MF will expand designer’s 3D printing capabilities, while simplifying the workflow.
3MF was designed to solve problems associated with other file types. It groups the best aspects of common file types together, allowing single file containing mesh geometry, 3D textures, materials, colors, meta data, and interior model information.
Stay tuned for our next 30 on 3D, to see where and how we’re using 3MF alongside our Stratasys 3D printers. Can’t wait? Reach out to us by phone at 949.474.9222 or by email at [email protected].
