On this edition of 30 on 3D, Senior R&D Engineer, Peter Montgomery, explains how to add chamfers in Materialise Magics. Without Magics, this task would be fairly intensive, but it is made easy with the software.
First, load your STL into Magics. In this example, we’re going to use the same part as when we were highlighting how to add fillets or radii to STL files.
Next, select “Chamfer” in the “Tools” menu. In the pop-up, adjust the “Type” and “Distance” settings. Then indicate the edges you would like the chamfer applied to. Once you’ve done so, hit “Apply.”
If you would like to learn more about your software options, contact our team by phone at 949.474.9222 or by email at [email protected].
