Digital Anatomy Creator

Patient-specific anatomical models

Digital Anatomy Creator is an add-on for GrabCAD Print users that provides advanced customization beyond the standard preset library included with J5 DAP and J850 DAP.

Why Upgrade To Digital Anatomy Creator Software?

Upgrade to Digital Anatomy Creator to unlock the full potential of your Digital Anatomy Printer. Create fully custom presets by combining materials and patterns to replicate anatomies beyond the standard library, or fine-tune existing presets to match specific patient types or application needs.

While the built-in presets allow users to quickly create realistic anatomical models, DAC gives you the ability to go further, by creating custom material presets and modifying existing ones. Users can combine materials like BoneMatrix, TissueMatrix, GelMatrix, and RadioMatrix or adjust properties such as density and softness to better match specific patient anatomies or clinical needs.

For example, adjust bone density for pediatric cases to achieve more realistic models. DAC gives advanced users, researchers, and medical teams greater control to create patient-specific models, enhance surgical planning, and standardize workflows, making it ideal for medical training, research, and complex applications.

Specialized Materials

Print with unique materials only available on Digital Anatomy Printers.

Allows for accurate cutting and drilling (chipping) of bone structures. Replace surgical devices like bone screws and plates.

The softest commercially available 3D printing material. Use to create structures like organs, tumors, and other soft anatomies that are not achievable with Agilus/Elastico alone.

An extremely soft gel material that is intended to be used as a support structure to print extemely thin vascular models down to as small as 1 mm inner diameter. Use to create soft anatomies like subcutaneous fat.

A highly unique radiopaque material that can be used under X-Ray and CT applications. When RadioMatrix is mixed with other PolyJet materials, users can create incredibly accurate phantoms and training models.

What Are The Existing Presets?

The Digital Anatomy printer offers six preset anatomical applications:

General Anatomy
Soft organs (muscle, brain), fibrotic tissue (ligaments, tendons, cartilage), elastic organs (trachea, stomach, bladder), tumors, and subcutaneous fat (based on surgeon feedback)

Vascular
Suturable vessels and complex vascular anatomies with small diameters, branching, and high angulation

Structural Heart
Cardiac models for procedural simulation

Musculoskeletal
BoneMatrix enables realistic cutting, drilling, and fixation

Radiology (Imaging Phantoms)
Print CT- and X-ray-visible models with anatomically accurate, tissue-mimicking radiopacity

Soft Visual Anatomy
Includes artery, brain, gums, heart tissue, liver, skin, and veins for realistic visualization

Dental
Realistic teeth, bone, and soft tissue for practicing extractions, implants, and root canals with lifelike feedback

Hear From Real Users

This video demonstrates how DAC is used to build a patient-specific skull model by customizing material properties and internal structures to replicate real bone behavior.

It highlights how users can go beyond standard presets to create models that closely match real anatomy and biomechanical performance. With DAC, teams can design, replicate, and share patient-specific models with confidence, supporting consistent, controlled research for surgical planning, device testing, and medical education, while improving standardization and collaboration across teams and institutions.
