BREP
BREP, or Boundary Representation, is a way of representing 3D files in CAD. BREP functions with CAD software and uses faces to represent a part, whereas mesh uses triangles.
Magics 26 is the first product in the Materialise portfolio to provide BREP functionality. With the accuracy and performance BREP provides, you can do more with your parts. CAD allows users to use multiple BREP tools at once, unlike mesh.

Import
All Magics 26 users now have the ability to import STEP files. Users have the choice of whether to import their files as a BREP, or have them converted to mesh at import.
Support Generation & Nesting
Cone and tree functionalities have been merged to form Tree Support, which will create a faster performance and an easier user experience. Braces can be added manually or automatically to improve the stability of your print.
The updated automated nesting tool produces a higher part density and allows for supports between parts when printing with EBM (Electron Beam Melting) and Binder Jetting. The supports refine heat dissipation which will decrease warping and prevent parts from fusing together.
