Here at Purple Platypus, we ask ourselves, “How can we inspire the next generation of students and young professionals to build a career in manufacturing? How can we spark creativity in their minds?”  Often times, these students and young adults are only exposed to the industry by someone they know in their family.  But, we will need to do more if we want to keep manufacturing alive in the U.S.
The idea of manufacturing generally leaves those outside of the industry to believe that it is based on outdated and ancient forms of business.  In actuality, the business of manufacturing is growing in many ways and expanding as new technologies emerge.  Thanks to the Manufacturing Day Movement, we have joined together with other organizations across America to celebrate modern manufacturing with the purpose of educating and inspiring the future generation of manufacturers.
On October 2, 2015,  we held our 2nd annual Manufacturing Day Event, giving students, working professionals, media, and the general public an opportunity to tour our facility and get an up close look at the various manufacturing tools and advanced technologies that Purple Platypus has to offer.  Facility tours were given to over 100 guests, big and tall, little and small!  Each tour ran for 45 minutes, which also included a presentation on Stratasys 3D Printers, Roland Milling Machines, SpaceClaim 3D Modeling Software and Purple Porcupine 3D Printing services.
Attendees left our facility with a great deal of knowledge about our 3D world of manufacturing, and how it is revolutionizing the industry today. If you want to learn more on how 3D printing can improve your manufacturing process, contact us today.
