Purple Platypus is seeking a motivated, organized individual to join our Post Processing Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for transforming 3D printed parts into high-quality finished products through sanding, polishing, painting, and other finishing techniques. This position plays a key role in ensuring that final parts meet cosmetic, dimensional, and quality standards before delivery or assembly.
Responsibilities
- Post-process 3D printed parts, including support removal, cleaning, deburring, sanding, and surface preparation.
- Sand, polish, and finish parts using hand and power tools to achieve smooth, paint-ready surfaces.
- Apply primers, paints, and coatings using appropriate tools to meet quality and aesthetic standards.
- Mask and prep parts prior to coating or painting.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and surface consistency; identify and correct defects.
- Perform touch-ups and rework to meet internal and customer standards.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE and safe handling of finishing materials.
- Support the production team as needed.
Skills/Qualifications
- Sanding and painting experience is a plus!
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
- Attention to detail and accuracy are critical
- Self-motivated individual with a positive “can do” attitude
- Ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills
- Eligible to work in the United States
Job Types: Full-time
Pay Range: $18.00-$25.00 per hour (depending on skill set)
Expected hours: 40 per week
