2024 kicked off with the launch of our new classroom for Purple Platypus University. After 10 years of offering technical courses, our team was ready for a new in-house training center to better serve our students.
The classroom can accommodate up to 16 students and offers both exclusive and open enrollment options. The training center is fully equipped with workstations where students get to apply what they learn.

February
In February, we attended MD&M West at the Anaheim Convention Center. The three-day event provided us with new opportunities to connect with at North America’s largest annual advanced design and manufacturing gathering.

March
This month, Stratasys announced two new software packages: GrabCAD Streamline Pro and GrabCAD Print Pro for PolyJet. Streamline Pro is an order management tool that reduces the burden of managing multiple printers and gives detailed reports on your printers.

In April, we hosted our first Lunch & Learn of the year at our Irvine headquarters! Stratasys Application Engineers joined us for an in-depth exploration of the H350, Neo, and Origin One, providing valuable insights into their applications.

May
May brought us an exciting new development – the ability to print directly onto fabric with the arrival of our J850 TechStyle printer. This innovation opens new possibilities for creating customized textile designs.

June
June was a busy month! First up, the Experience Stratasys Tour. We hosted three events in the Stratasys mobile showroom everywhere from Phoenix to Southern California to the Bay area. The showroom was decked out with every Stratasys 3D printing technology and hundreds of impressive parts. Keep an ear out for where the truck is going in 2025.
Next up, Rapid made its highly anticipated return to the West Coast for the first time in nearly 10 years, which we were ecstatic about. Rapid was a great experience for us and we gained a lot from the event. Even more exciting, Onulis was honored as AM Startup of the Year at Rapid, marking a significant achievement in the additive manufacturing industry!
June ended on an exciting note, with the F3300 becoming commercially available. The F3300 is larger, faster, and the highest quality of any FDM technology. Check out some parts produced by the F3300 below.
July
July brought new capabilities to the dental industry. The DentaJet XL is designed to further improve dental lab productivity and reduce costs with its larger resin cartridges, large print tray, Super High-Speed mode, and minimal post processing workflow.

The Marketing Team spent three days in Minnesota collaborating with Stratasys’ global marketing team and resellers across the U.S..
During the event, Talena Weingartner, our Marketing Manager, delivered an insightful presentation on how we manage our pre- and post-show meetings, sharing valuable strategies and best practices.

In September we got to attend the leading international, Commercial UAV Tradeshow. The Expo took place in Las Vegas and Sales Engineers, Doug Simsarian and Geoff Varga represented Purple Platypus.
October
In honor of spooky season, we had a special guest visit our office for a very important project.
Watch as Application Engineer, Eric Alexander, helps create Spellbound’s new packaging prototype for the company’s latest product release, adding a touch of magic to the process.
November
At Formnext in November, Stratasys had a lot of exciting announcements:
– Origin Two Launch
– SAF ReLife Launch
– Fortus FDC™ filament drying cabinet
– New validated FDM® PC-ESD material for Fortus® 450mc and F900® printers
– Expanded layer height option for Ultem™ 9085 resin in new Red and Aircraft Gray colors
– New materials for the Origin® P3™ platform
The Origin Two features the latest in DLP technology, and together with Onulis, we now offer a complete DLP workflow solution.
Stratasys also launched SAF ReLife. This transforms PA12 powder waste into top-quality parts helping with sustainability efforts.
December
To close out the year, Stratasys announced GrabCAD compatibility with the Neo 3D printers. Our team has been very impressed with GrabCAD’s ability to prepare builds for our Neo 450s.
This integration of GrabCAD marked the official compatability for all five Stratasys technologies. GrabCAD Print Pro has also brought us a new creative horizon.
